I finished my first EPP quilt top last week and have spent a lot of time thinking about how to hand quilt it. I think it would be brilliant to hand quilt it and so perfect to do it in winter! You could try quilting with perle thread or a thicker cotton, it's faster than traditional hand quilting. You could quilt a pattern on the navy (something like leaves?) and then quilt the centre of the flowers. Have fun quilting whatever you decide to do :)Lucy | Charm About Youhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14802874219199570853noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3647398646594937688.post-64880798569705757872014-08-22T16:36:16.696-02:302014-08-22T16:36:16.696-02:30You finished it!! Have you seen how Nicole @Modern Handcraft machine quilts her hexies - I don't think it detracts from them in the slightest somehow, for me, it enhances the design especially if it's done in a matching thread. Personally I'd go with a navy thread overall but take the time to switch to a neutral thread and burying my thread tails when stitching over the flowers as the navy thread would knock them back too much and deaden the overall effect. Just my thoughts anyway! I can understand you not wanting to hand quilt this after spending so much time with it already, and myself would be tempted to do a edge to edge quilting with the walking foot, but it really would look great hand quilted for a more traditional feel.
