Blogger's Quilt Festival Fall 2014 - Hexie Stars!

It's time for the Blogger's Quilt Festival again! Amy, of Amy's Creative Side organizes this to coincide with Quilt Market twice a year and it's always so inspiring to see all the quilts entered in each category.

This time around I'm entering my Hexie Stars quilt in the Mini Quilt category.
The hexagons with stars inside were designed by Renee of Nellie's Niceties and were made using the english paper piecing method. I love how the hexies really stand out against the dark grey.

I had fun choosing different designs to quilt in each section of the quilt.
I love the back of this quilt as much as I love the front! I always use the same thread in the bobbin, and I like how the colourful quilting shows up against a solid backing.

There's no minimum skill level required for entering the Blogger's Quilt festival, so even if you've only just finished your very first quilt, feel free to link it up and share it with everyone else!

  3. I love the bubbles quilting. The back of the quilt is pretty cool, too. You could hang it from either side!

  6. The quilting on this is so creative and adds enormously to already-cool star hexies. I really enjoy both of your Festival entries!!

  7. I love the quilt and the almost stormy sea colours you've used. What fabrics are those? Did you use hand-dyed? Your quilting is just fantastic! And I can't spot any of your EPP handstitches - so very jealous :)
